Whanau Ora – Adolescent Health

Our Aim This service provides community youth with access to much needed medical support services. It is an accessible, affordable, appropriate and comprehensive school based health service. This optimises the health of young people and their families in the far north and reflects our commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.

Objectives

  • We have the services of two doctors, adolescent health and sexual health nurses, public health nurses, Te Oranga counsellors, school counsellor, primary mental health nurses and other primary health services;
  • There is a range of free, confidential services provided for 12 - 24 year olds that respects young people, honours their privacy and allows adequate time for client/provider/whanau interactions;

Eligible Clients All taitamariki between the ages of 12 to 24.

How do I access this service?

  • Present at clinics - self referral;
  • Be referred by school, whanau, other health provider or education provider;
  • Contact one of our clinics as below.

Contact Information The Kaitaia Clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am until 3 pm situated at 30 Worth Street, Kaitaia.

Taipa Adolescent Health Centre is situated in grounds of Taipa Area School; the centre is open Monday to Thursday during school hours from 8:30 am until 3 pm.
