Health Promotions – Korikori-a-iwi

Our Aim To support Maori whanau achieve maximum health and wellbeing, and reduce inequalities between Maori and other New Zealanders by promoting healthy lifestyles (nutrition and physical activity) within a kaupapa Maori framework.

Objectives

  • To educate, promote and encourage whanau and communities to a lifetime participation in physical activity.
  • To educate, promote and encourage whanau and communities to have healthy nutrition.
  • To integrate with other services with a focus on health where increased nutrition and physical activity will benefit.
This could include supporting community initiatives, educations or workshops sessions, public education campaigns, resource development, providing training and work collaboratively with others on activities that have a focus on promoting healthy food choices and lifetime participation in physical activity.

Eligible Clients Maori whanau and communities in Te Hiku O Te Ika.
