Whanau Ora – Primary Mental Health Practitioners

Our Aim To improve provision of mental health services through early intervention and coordination of care for people with mild to moderate mental health and substance use difficulties.

Objectives

  • Assessment and brief intervention service for people with mild to moderate mental health and substance use difficulties;
  • Access to counselling services;
  • First point of contact for non-urgent mental health matters and provide advice and assistance on appropriate services.

Eligible Clients

  • All whanau, iwi and hapu of Te Hiku O Te Ika.
  • All registered clients of Te Tai Tokerau PHO in the Far North.

How do I access this service?

  • GP referral;
  • All community health and social services;
  • Direct from individuals or whanau.
